Tianjin delegates determine to help make a better future

The 19th CPC National Congress opened on Oct 18. As the opening session ended, Tianjin delegates shared their agreements on and confidence in a better Tianjin and a developing China.

The report delivered at the opening session mentioned the "Two Centenary Goals", which are "a moderately prosperous society by 2020 (2021 being the 100th anniversary of the CPC), which will likely be fulfilled within the term of the 19th Party Congress", and "a great, modern, socialist country by 2050 (2049 being the 100th anniversary of the People's Republic of China), which is being planned by the 19th Party Congress".

Tianjin delegates all agreed that the report and the Congress will promote the improvement of people's living standards and are certain to realize "socialist modernization".

Delegate Meng Xiangfei, head at the research and development department of the National SuperComputer Center in Tianjin, stressed the significance of innovation.

"Tianhe is one of the most powerful computers in the world now and we'll continue to update it to make more contribution to the development of China's innovation," Meng added.

Delegate Qu Xiaoli, Party Secretary of Hongqiao district in Tianjin, expressed her determination to serve people in all aspects of their livelihoods including employment, education, medical care and housing.

Meng Guanglu, head of the Tianjin Youth Peking Opera Troupe, said troupe members have witnessed people's interest in and love of traditional Chinese art after every performance in China or other countries in the past five years.

"We will create dramas according to people's real life and promote traditional Chinese culture and virtues to the world," Meng suggested.

Dustman Xu Wenhua, who works at an environmental sanitation management bureau in Hebei district, Tianjin, attended the Congress and expressed his willingness to keep on making a clean and beautiful city for people.

Other delegates like Yao Laiying, Party Secretary of Nankai district and Cai Zhiping, Party Secretary of the Tianjin First Intermediate People's Court, also showed their confidence in China's future economy and are determined to realize "socialist modernization" in China.
