Wangzhuang intelligent equipment town launched

The opening ceremony for the establishment of an intelligent equipment town in Wangzhuang was held in Wuxi's Xinwu district on Oct 16 to promote the combination of manufacturing and information technology industry.

Located on Wangzhuang Street, Xinwu district, the intelligent equipment town covers 3.5 square kilometers and is aimed at attracting equipment manufacturing enterprises who want to upgrade their facilities with internet of things (IoT), cloud computing, automation, robotics, and big data.

So far, the town has attracted 80 manufacturing enterprises bringing a 6.1-billion-yuan ($920.33 million) output value accounting for 68 percent of total output value in the town.

A total of 20 billion yuan will be invested in the town, 10 billion of which will go to its manufacturing industry covering six intelligent equipment sectors including semiconductors, consumer electronics, and grapheme industries.

Wuxi Lead Intelligent Equipment and Autowell, two leading enterprises in the city, are setting a good example for other businesses by promoting the gathering of high-end talents technologies and capital. It is hope that the output value at the park can reach 30 billion yuan by 2025.

At the launch ceremony, Autowell also announced that construction on its Intelligent Equipment Park had begun, providing technological support for the establishment of Wangzhuang intelligent equipment town.

Wang Quan, mayor of Wuxi, Wei Duo, director of Wuxi's Xinwu district and Ge Zhiyong, CEO of Autowell attended the opening ceremony.
