Swimming is prohibited at Haibin Beach (City Parlor) in Jida where landscaping and facility improvements are under way from Oct 17 until April, according to an official notice.
Already, all-round upgrades were conducted in 2011 to improve the seaside tourism experience. Now, the iconic scenic spot is again polishing its image with greenery through renovations and installations.
Over the next half year, the swimming area will be closed with washrooms and locker services suspended. Kept in use are recreational items such as leisure bicycles and beach chairs. Other normal activities are not affected, according to managing company Xiangzhou Zhengfang Public Resources Operation.
From January to Oct 1, Haibin Beach embraced more than 1.48 million visitors and 47 visiting delegations. The figure for the year is expected to exceed 1.6 million on a sustained growth trend.
The operator had utilized professional staff members to ensure the safety of beachgoers, with 91 rescues by Oct 1.
