Forbes gives Gree Top-Regarded Company listing

Ranking 190th, Zhuhai-based Gree Electric Appliances is the only Chinese household appliance enterprise to be included in Forbes' first-ever Top Regarded Companies list.

Gree was one of 17 entrants rated from the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Internationally, German conglomerate Siemens took top spot for its high level of trustworthiness. France's Michelin Group and Google parent company Alphabet from the United States followed close behind. The US has 61 and Japan 42 companies listed.

The outcome is based on Forbes's 2017 Global 2000 rankings, a partnership evaluation task undertaken with Statista, which is an online statistics, market research, and business intelligence portal.

Assembled were companies from 58 countries with combined revenues of $35.3 trillion. They were evaluated first on trustworthiness or honesty, then on social conduct, employee relations, and performance of product or service.

With inclusion of businesses across multiple industries, automobile and truck manufacturers are the dominant sectors on the list.

The international electric household machinery manufacturer Gree has integrated R&D, sales, and service with the largest air-conditioner production scale in the world. Headquartered in Xiangzhou District, its production bases are located in Chongqing municipality, Hefei of Anhui, Zhengzhou of Henan, Wuhan of Hubei, Shijiazhuang of Hebei, Wuhu of Anhui, Changsha of Hunan, and Hangzhou of Zhejiang as well as in Brazil and Pakistan. 

With the dedication of approximately 80,000 employees, Gree currently has products in 400 series of 20 categories with more than 12,700 different specifications. The wide variety of products, along with a complete industrial chain and mature supporting facilities, has helped the business double its clout.

More than 300 million customers of different levels in 160 countries and regions view the Chinese state-owned brand favorably, saying its products satisfy personal needs.
