A photo exhibition of beautiful landscapes and cultural elements in Spain kicked off in Xiamen, Fujian province on Oct 14.
The exhibition, entitled "Luz de España" ("Light of Spain"), is being organized by Spain's national tourism bureau.
It features works by famous Chinese photographer Mei Sheng on his trips to Madrid, Catalonia, Valencia, Aragon and Malaga in Spain. Through his lens, Mei captures the beauty of Spain's cultural and natural heritages. The event is intended to raise public awareness and the protection of world heritages.
Diplomats from the Consulate General of Spain in Guangzhou attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition and briefed the attendees on their country's tourism and culture.
The Spanish diplomats also invited Xiamen residents to visit Spain and experience the long history and colorful culture in the country. They vowed to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Xiamen in tourism and other fields.
Yao Jianhong, deputy head of the Xiamen foreign and Chinese foreign affairs office attended the event at the invitation of the Spanish side.
