The Yellow River Bridge between Shanxi province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region has recently joined its main sections, according to Transport Department of Shanxi, Oct 11.
An important exit of Shanxi to Northwest China, the bridge runs from Hequ county in Shanxi, crossing the Yellow River, to Juungar Banner, Ordos in Inner Mongolia, with a total length of 4.86 kilometers.
Once finished, the bridge will break the natural barrier between Shanxi and Inner Mongolia, making it a vital hub for provincial exchanges and communication, and greatly enhance the transport links in northwest Shanxi.
Meanwhile, the bridge will help Shanxi establish an integrated transportation network, strengthen coal transportation, promote tourism development, and further economic and cultural communication and cooperation among Shanxi, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia.
