The 2nd Tongliao Wudantala Maple Leaves Festival began at a forest park in Horqin Left Wing Rear Banner, Tongliao, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Oct 15, enticing hundreds of tourists to have an autumn outing.
The festival was organized by the local government in Horqin Left Wing Rear Banner, aiming to attract more tourists, driving the development of the local tourism industry.
The maple forest park is located in Wudantala and covers a land area of more than 90,000 mu (6,000 hectares). In 2016, the banner received 1.3 million tourists with a tourism revenue of nearly 1.1 billion yuan ($167 million).
