Togtoh county in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, ranked 54th on the 2017 list of China's top 100 counties (cities) for comprehensive strength, according to a report on the scientific development of middle-sized and small cities released on Oct 9.
The report was released by the Institute for Urban and Environmental Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Committee for Economic Development of Middle-sized and Small Cities, and the institute of Development Strategy of Middle-sized and Small Cities.
Togtoh county ranked 40th among the top 100 counties (cities) for investment potential on a list released the same day.
The report also listed the top 100 districts for comprehensive strength, investment potential, and entrepreneurship and innovation, and included the top 100 towns for comprehensive strength.
Hohhot's Xincheng district and Saihan district squeezed into the ranks of the top 100 districts for comprehensive strength. Xincheng district was also listed as a top 100 district for entrepreneurship and innovation.
According to the report, 25 towns from Inner Mongolia autonomous region were added to the list of top 100 towns for comprehensive strength.
