Huge print-consumables show climaxes in Zhuhai

The 11th RemaxWorld Expo held in Zhuhai from Oct 12 to 14 was the world's largest print consumables trade show among global industry players with scaled-up exhibitions and business model presentations.

The three-day event at the Zhuhai International Convention & Exhibition Center, now with a history of more than ten years, hosted 482 domestic and overseas exhibitors eager to make an impact with state-of-art technologies and product updates.

Zhuhai, known as the Print Consumables Capital of the World, put more than 140 of its leading innovative brands, including Ninestar, Print-Rite, Apex, and Mito on show for their innovations. The companies account for 29 percent of the total number of exhibitors. Those from other Guangdong cities make up another 34 percent, an indication of the province's advantages gained by creating industrial clusters, according to the organizer, Recycling Times Media Corp.

Also spotlighted were Shanghai Dinglong Machinery, a leading carton and package printer; Suzhou Goldengreen Technologies, a high-tech manufacturer focusing on Organic Photo-Conductor (OPC) drum products; Uninet, a worldwide manufacturer of printer components and parts in the US; Hanp, a Korean producer of core parts and subsidiary materials used in digital output devices; and the US-based GPI Prototype & Manufacturing Services.

Many prospective purchasers hailed from 101 countries and regions including the US, Canada, France, Germany, the UK, Japan, Egypt, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, India, Mexico, and Argentina. About 45 percent attended for the first time.

This year's exhibition had a place for office equipment and stationery following the addition of a display area dedicated to copier and consumables last year. The purpose was to create a comprehensive exhibition encompassing all manner of "big office" materials which also include Smart Office and 3D-printing products.

Tony Lee, managing director of RT media, commented, "In the future, market competition will be value-based by data, which will bring new competition and industry challenges." He added, "We hope RemaxWorld Expo will be the platform to broadcast the latest industry trends and bring more, new ideas for this industry all over the world."

Participants had opportunities for cooperation as well as technology exchanges at the international economic trade platform, said a business representative. Besides, industry insiders benefited as they discussed development trends and research achievements at a scheduled seminar.

A highlight this year was participation by Google and Amazon. Allen Yin, strategic partnership manager of Google Greater China shared "How the Internet Changes Sales to International Business" at the RemaxWorld Summit. Also providing new insight on "How Amazon can help you cross the border to the new blue ocean market" was senior development manager of Amazon Business, Shi Bo, at a special seminar during RemaxWorld Expo.

Zhuhai has the largest and most complex industry chain and the highest technical level in print consumables worldwide. It is currently home to the headquarters of more than 250 manufacturers of those products, including world-renowned brands. Those manufacturers produce over 70 percent of universal color ribbons, 60 percent of compatible ink cartridges, and 20 percent of recycling laser toner cartridges in the global market.
