A 16-year-old chess player from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region won the second place with 7.5 points at the just concluded national chess master tournament in Tianjin, becoming the second national chess master in Hohhot.
Wang Yikai started playing chess in a regular basis since 2013. In 2015, he won the championship of chess competition held in Hohhot, and in the same year he won the Mongolian Chess title.
Wang won his first national award in August last year and achieved great things in the following national events.
"I hope to break the record of chess players from Hohhot and compete in International chess tournaments," said Wang.
