Nearly a dozen culture, sports, and tourism carnival activities themed Tourism+ at Golden Beach and Floral Fields & Watertown entertained holiday-goers during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday in Jinwan District.

Due to publicity, the number of tourists visiting Jinwan increased by 10.26 percent year-on-year to 274,800, a record high. Golden Beach alone saw nearly 200,000 visitors during the holiday, it was announced by the Culture, Sports & Tourism Bureau of Jinwan on Oct 9.

With full use of tourism characteristics of the scenic spot, mass fitness demonstrations and performances, flying kites, beach sports meets, and parent-child training sessions blended sport activities with Jinwan tourism.

The culture of Jinwan was highlighted with traditional cultural performances, DIY moon cakes, beach bonfire parties, and singing competition at Golden Beach. To further enhance events, inheritors of Sanzao's intangible cultural heritage demonstrated at the site.

Ten lion dance troupes, half from neighboring cities of the Pearl River Delta, joined in a breathtaking show while standing on high stakes. A dragon dance troupe also interacted with tourists.

Aiming to integrate tourism with food, an event themed "Have Fun in Tasting Beach Delicacies" was also available at Golden Beach with various Jinwan-characterized cuisines.

Despite damage caused by Typhoon Hato, most of the tourism enterprises had sped up restorations and resumed operations before National Day. Golden Beach and Floral Fields & Watertown were back to around-the-clock business, while the transparent factory of By-Health Co Ltd started taking bookings from tour groups on Oct 4, according to an official of the bureau.
