The Second Spring attracts famous tenor Wang Hongwei playing the leading role of Ah Bing. Along with the members from Wuxi opera and dance troupe, they tried their best to combine national opera with Wuxi's characteristics to show personality and psychology of the protagonist.

This was a great challenge for Wang as he should perform blind and sing over 20 arias with full expressions showcasing the tough life of Ah Bing.

With the help of a famous Chinese writer Ren Weixin and national first-grade director Huang Dingshan, the opera forms a cyclic construction and an alternating rhythm of narration which closely hinge on the theme.

"The Second Spring adds contemporary opera to traditional national opera. The opera integrates western symphonies, orchestras, national instruments and stage designs to make audiences feel part of the moving show", said an expert from ministry of culture.
