The Ironkids triathlon race opened in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region on October 5.
The junior triathlon race was for children aged from 3 to 15, attracting over 2,000 participants including more than 300 kids.
It consists of a 300-meter run, a 600-meter run, and a 900-meter run. The children were divided into three groups according to their age. All of the children completed the race and received their first international medals.
Ironkids was launched in 2004. The family-friendly event is organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), with the aim of developing children’s athletic capability, sportsmanship, self-discipline, and self-esteem.
