Guangzhou's gourmet food, traditional crafts, and beautiful music recently impressed Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain.
Guangzhou media bureau organized a series of cultural events at the 23rd World Route Development Forum in Barcelona, held on Sept 24-26. Guangzhou will host the forum in 2018.
Guangdong Music & Folk Art Troupe performed numerous masterpieces of Cantonese folk music, such as yudabajiao, niaotoulin, and pinhuqiuyue.

Fang Jinlong, a master of the five-stringed pipa, a traditional Chinese stringed instrument, also gave pipa solos to show the unique elegance of ancient Cantonese culture.
Guangzhou artisans Zeng Zhaohong and Tan Guanghui, meanwhile, gave onsite demonstrations of olive-pit carving and Cantonese ceramics-making, two art forms that have been named part of China's national cultural heritage.
Visitors also enjoyed the free Cantonese dim sum and tea that was served to everyone at the events.

Foreign guests attentively watch Tan Guanghui painting patterns on a porcelain plate.
