Intl innovation and entrepreneurship meeting opens in Jilin

Several top entrepreneurial mentors shared their opinions on the development of global innovation and entrepreneurship at an international meeting held at Jilin University from Sept 23 to 24.

The event was initiated in 2005 and intends to offer scholars a platform to share their views on the practice and theory of innovation and entrepreneurship.

This year's meeting included two sections -- a series of lectures and a youth forum -- in which world leading entrepreneurial experts gave speeches and some younger scholars showed their research achievements.

Xu Lida, professor at Old Dominion University, said that there are more and more chances for people to participate in innovation and entrepreneurship as China sets up its manufacturing strategy of "Made in China 2025".

Xu also suggested that entrepreneurs should focus more on international high-end technology and industries.

The meeting was sponsored by Jilin University and the Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises Association of the Chinese Management Institute.
