Sanmenxia launches wetland mini marathon

Sanmenxia city, widely known as the "swan city", on Sept 23 organized a mini-marathon with over 1,000 people participating.

Sponsored by Sanmenxia Huawei Medical Corporation and Sanmenxia Yellow River Park administration division, the mini marathon has been successfully held for two consecutive years.

According to the sponsors, participation was open to only Sanmenxia residents. They said the event was designed as a 'mini' marathon with the length of distance to be covered shortened to enable more people including both the young and elderly resident to join the activity.

Awards were presented to the top 50 male and female participants respectively. Two leading running groups were also awarded for their exceptional performance. All competitors were treated to free lunch and a film show after the event.
