The 2017 semiconductor summit was held in Haicang district of Xiamen, Fujian province on Sept 15, aimed at improving and accelerating the country's semiconductor and integrated circuit industries.
The summit attracted senior managers from nearly 100 semiconductor enterprises from home and abroad to make a series of keynote speeches. Sub forums were also held at the summit, including a property rights forum, a semiconductor investment forum, and an artificial intelligence forum.
Wang Yanhui, founder of a WeChat service platform for mobile phones and the semiconductor industry, said that the summit serves as a platform for semiconductor enterprises to communicate with investors and investment institutions to attract more investment.
The China Semiconductor Invest Alliance was also established at the summit with 76 founding members.
Wang said that the alliance will be dedicated to promoting the coordination of capital within the semiconductor industry, resources integration and information sharing.
Chen Datong, president of investment committee of Huachuang Investments, said that Xiamen has seen rapid development in its integrated circuit industry in recent years. Increasingly more enterprises, projects and funds in the industry have regarded Xiamen as their first choice.
He added that holding such a high-level summit means that Xiamen is playing a more and more important role in the development of China's integrated circuit industry.
Xiamen TongFu Microelectronics recently decided to locate to Haicang district of Xiamen, which marks the gradual improvement of the one-hour supply chain of semiconductor industry integrating chip manufacturing, packaging, and testing in in the city.
Xiamen's integrated circuit industry is attempting to increase its scale to hundreds of billions of yuan by 2025 and drive the production value of related industries to over 300 billion yuan ($45.42 billion), including electronic information technology, communication and computer.
