The 10th China International Cartoon Festival is set to open on Sept. 30 in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province.
The festival will feature 10 major activities, including displaying achievements in the cartoon and animation industry and introducing comic-inspired games.
A comics creation event will be held, during which many famous cartoonists from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao will design and draw cartoons and comic books over a 24-hour period. The event will be broadcast live online.
The festival will also provide financial support for cartoonists and help promote original works.
About 250 exhibitors will take part in the event, with more than 12,000 comic books and related products to be on display. Organizers expect around 300,000 visitors to attend the festival which runs until Oct. 5.
Foreign participants include those from the United States, Belgium, Japan, Britain and France.
