Yves Charnay, honorary chairman of the European Association of Color, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 14th China (Wuxi) International Design Expo in Jiangsu province on Sept 21.
"The expo provides a good opportunity for cultural exchange," he said.
Charnay claimed that the expo was the ideal place for designers to exchange ideas with each other.
He shared his impressions of China during the event, saying that it is an efficient country, with an efficient design industry; an idea can be turned into a finished product in a very short space of time.
"Chinese architects are also extremely open-minded, which has enabled me to complete several building façade designs here," he said.
According to Charnay, he is now working with the Chinese professor, Song Jianmin, on research into the similarities and differences of color applications in China and France. The results are expected to be published in 2018.
