Highlights of Infrastructure in Harbin in 2017

Harbin in Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province is taking measures to advance the livelihood of residents by improving infrastructure in the city. The initiative has seen significant achievements in the past three quarters.

No 1 Hongbin Square

Hongbin Square, located in central downtown area of Harbin, is a perfect place for residents to exercise and relax in a crowded city. Hongbin Square covers an area of 6,254 square meters, with free sports facilities and spots available for neighbouring residents to spend their leisure time. There is also large area of vegetation for sightseeing.

Reconstruction of the Square began in October 2016, and completed June this year.

No 2 Juxin Street Project

Juxin Street is a newly-built street connecting Xiangzheng Street in east and Nanbei Road in west. The street is 501 meters long and 40 meters wide, occupying 20,601 square meters.

Juxin Street was put into traffic in this June, which plays an important role in dispersing traffic heading to Airport Road, Kanan Road, Xiangzheng Road and other neighbouring areas, seeing remarkable effect in easing traffic congestion.

 No 3 Reconstruction of road network in the north of Harbin railway station

The north square of Harbin Railway Station is the busiest transportation hub in Harbin city. A project targeted at the area around the transportation hub was conducted to improve traffic. They included building new streets, widening roads and installing municipal affiliated facilities.

The project covers Didong Street, Anning Street, Dideli Street, Gongchang Street, Haicheng Street and Maimai Street.

The initiative has won praise from local residents for solving a long-standing traffic problem in the area.

 No 4 Huanan City Project

The Huanan City Project is an infrastructural project integrating parking lots, lighting system, broadcasting system, monitoring system, green belts and outdoor decorations.

Huanan City, located in the east of Harbin, has a vision to become the commercial center in the area. To attract more investment and the settlement of businesses, the City began its modernization project in October 2016.
Currently, green belts and parking lots covering an area of 23,983 square meters and 1,643 square meters respectively have been completed.

 No 5 four pedestrian overpasses

Harbin established a total of four pedestrian overpasses in 2017. They are located in Harbin University, Harbin No 3 Middle School, Tianqiao Chengfa Residential Community, and the intersection between Xinyang Road and Minqing Street.

Pedestrian overpasses have been built to solve the traffic congestion and prevent potential traffic accidents.
