Aircraft, unmanned vessels, green buildings, and virtual technologies will represent Zhuhai at the 2017 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo in Dongguan from Sept 21 to 24.

Key state-owned enterprises Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances, Zhuhai Port Holdings, and Huafa Group as well as other innovative private companies will constitute a 21-firm delegation, according to the city Bureau of Commerce.

The expo promises to be a broad-based display of Zhuhai's construction success resulting from open development, Belt & Road Initiative implementation, and the national going-out strategy practiced by most of its enterprises, said a government official.

The image of a fast-growing Guangdong city will be promoted via photos, videos, and data illustrations. Product descriptions, pictures, and materials will be in place at 121 exhibition stalls. They will present commercial exchange and market development with countries along the Belt & Road. Manufacturing, high-end science and technology, and engineering will be emphasized.

Highlighted will be the architectural curtain walls of Zhuhai Singyes Green Building Technology and virtual display of Zhuhai 4D Age Technology that is often used for digital museum construction and relics reconstruction. Models of the latest products from Zhuhai Yunzhou Intelligence Technology (Yunzhou-Tech) and China Aviation Industry General Aircraft (CAIGA), which include unmanned vessels, corporate jets, and drones, will also be shown.

Cooperation agreements valued at more than 14.5 billion yuan ($2.2 billion) are expected to be signed.

Dedicated to promoting the B&R, the international expo has been held annually since 2015. It brings Guangdong cities together with countries or regions along the Maritime Silk Road, especially those of Southeast Asia.

This year's session will be expanded to an unprecedented scale of 100,000 sq m. Six separate professional exhibitions will be presented together with one theme exhibition featuring business opportunities, cross-border e-commerce logistics, and information technology products.

Taking part are 1,682 enterprises from home and abroad. Just over 67 percent of them, or 1,134, come from 56 foreign countries and regions, while 548 domestic exhibitors will constitute the balance, according to the organizer.
