The GDP of Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, hit 185.37 billion yuan ($28 billion) in the first half of 2017, ranking fifth among 57 member cities in West China, according to Baotou Daily.
The figure represented year-on-year growth of 7.5 percent.
Chengdu, capital city of Sichuan province, topped the list, with GDP reaching 611.14 billion yuan, followed by Xi'an, Shaanxi province with 330.41 billion yuan and Kunming, Yunnan province, with 204.91 billion yuan.
