The 2017 China (Guangdong) - Europe Investment and Innovation Cooperation Conference is expected to play an important role in advancing Sino-European ties, organizers said.
More than 450 senior government officials, business executives, experts and scholars will attend the two-day event taking place in Foshan's Shunde district of Guangdong province between Sept 13 and 14.
The event is jointly organized by Guangdong provincial government and the European Union of Chamber in China.
Senior officials from the central and Guangdong provincial governments will meet their counterparts from Europe and exchange views and discuss the expansion of cooperation during the event.
A number of cooperative agreements and contracts will also be signed during the event, said Zhu Xixiong, deputy director of the Management Committee of Foshan Sino-German Industrial Service Zone.
"The event will help take the Sino-Europe cooperation to a new level and further upgrade Foshan's industrial structure," said Zhu.
Intelligent manufacturing, bio-medicine and green urban construction will be the key areas for expanding Sino-German cooperation in the upcoming event, according to Zhu.
Special seminars, exchanges and lectures will be organized to help boost mutual understanding and cooperation, he added.
Located approximately 20 kilometers away from Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, Foshan, home to a myriad of big-name foreign companies and Chinese manufacturers, is a major production base in the southern Chinese region.
