Hanwei Group builds another modernized chicken farm

Construction of a new layer poultry farm in Lushunkou, Dalian began on Sept 6.

The farm is being constructed by the 35-year-old Hanwei Group, known as the “king of chicken raising in China”. 

The Group has invested one hundred million yuan ($15.32 million) into a modernized chicken farm.

After project completion, Hanwei Group’s annual output volume of eggs will increase by 19,000 tons, which will satisfy the egg consumption of 1 million people for a year. 

Yi Qingtao, Party secretary of the CPC Lushunkou District Committee, spoke highly of the development and progress of Hanwei Group. 

Yi hoped the Group will insist on the ideal of green and continuous development and establish its brand -- Gegeda -- on a national level.

The Group raises about 300 million birds at a time and has gained ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications.  

Hanwei Group is a member of the International Egg Commission and has been certificated as a National Livestock and Poultry Standardization Demonstration Farm and National Pilot Zone of the Chicken Egg Industry. 

Provincial, municipal and local officials and more than 100 nationwide Gegeda partners attended the ceremony.
