Baotou wins contracts worth 2.1b yuan at Astana Expo

Baotou won five projects worth 2.1 billion yuan ($321 million) at Astana Expo, according to a Sept 3 Baotou Daily report.

A delegation consisting of 13 representatives from eight Baotou-based businesses attended Inner Mongolia Week at the 2017 Astana Expo on Aug 22, which coincided with the 70th anniversary of the founding of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

Held in Astana, capital city of Kazakhstan, the Astana expo attracted attendees from more than 100 countries and 10 international organizations.

As one of China’s crucial energy-producing regions, Inner Mongolia sought partnerships with Kazakhstan and Eurasian countries in transforming traditional industries and in new energy exploitation and utilization, with the expo serving as a platform.
