Official investigates poverty alleviation work in Sanmenxia

An official investigation of poverty alleviation work was carried out in Sanmenxia, Central China's Henan province on Sept 3.

The visit gave deputy director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development Hong Tianyun and his team a deep insight into the progress that has been made in Sanmenxia, with tours of the city's Shanzhou and Lushi districts and the presentation of a work report from local officials.

When visiting Dongming village in Lushi county, Hong was thoroughly briefed on the county's cooperative chicken breeding base. Afterwards, Hong expressed his hopes that the base can continue to assist more local residents in overcoming impoverished conditions.

"Poverty alleviation through financial support is a new development model, only available when industries are developed. Sanmenxia's development has a long-lasting vitality," said Hong.
