A calligraphy exhibition showcased 150 different items in Wuhai to display the charms of assorted Chinese characters on Aug 26.
The fair was co-hosted by China Calligraphers Association (CCA), Wuhai municipal people’s government, Wuhai publicity department, and Wuhai literary federation, making it the largest exhibition of calligraphy works in Wuhai city.
A total of 20 events were held during the fair, including free lectures on Chinese calligraphy and interactive exchanges with prestigious calligraphy artists.
Wuhai, an industrial city, has turned its head to its flourishing arts and culture sectors since being designated China’s first calligraphy city by the CCA in 2008. More than 140 calligraphers have been enrolled in a regional-level calligraphy association, and 35 are listed as having national-level calligraphy membership.
