"Intelligent manufacturing is key to the country's Made in China 2025 strategy," said Zhang Liang, vice-chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Jilin committee last month.
In 2015, China unveiled its Made in China 2025 strategy, a road map for the future of the manufacturing industry.
"Jilin is an important hub for traditional manufacturing. The province should seize the opportunities brought about by the national strategy and make breakthroughs in improving its industrial efficiency and industrial restructuring and upgrades," Zhang added.

Over 1,200 guests from both home and abroad attended the forum.
Jin Yunhui, deputy governor of Jilin province and Yang Shuanchang, deputy director-general of MIIT Equipment department also attended the forum and delivered speeches.
Jin said, with its industry of competitive equipment manufacturing, Jilin has kept Made in China 2015 strategy in mind while setting the developmental scheme.
Jilin will step up its efforts in building a leading demonstration city for the national Made in China 2025 strategy, Jin added on the forum.
In addition, Yang said that the intelligent manufacturing industry would lead China’s development for the coming decade. The MIIT Equipment department will support Jilin province’s industrial transformation.
