Valued at $91,900, the first batch of manganese ore imported from Burma was cleared at Zhanjiang Port after going through inspection and quarantine on Aug 31.

Weighing 935.48 tons, it was packed in 33 containers and transported by the rail and sea. In line of its quality, Zhanjiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau formulated the clearance requirements and procedures accordingly. After efficient examination, sampling, inspection and quarantine by the bureau, the flow and usage of the goods will be tracked in subsequent supervision and management.

Zhanjiang is the gateway of Guangdong to connect with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Against the backdrop of the Belt & Road Initiative, cooperation between the city and ASEAN will further ramp up.

Zhanjiang Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has innovated the management mode on back of the new wave of opening-up. Its streamlined clearance procedures not only save in delivering time but also cut the cost for enterprises.
