Innovation and entrepreneurship forum held in Shenyang

An investment and financing training forum for innovation and entrepreneurship in the science and technology sector was held in Heping district, Shenyang on Aug 24.

The event, themed on the Belt and Road Initiative and the rejuvenation of the Northeast China region, invited experts and scholars, business representatives from 12 investment institutions in Shanghai, and 200 high-tech businesses from Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang in Northeast China.

Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the event aimed to help start-ups to improve their investment and financing capabilities.

Experts from both China and Russia delivered speeches centered on the opportunities and challenges businesses may face with the new initiative.

The Shenyang branch of TusPark signed agreements with seven businesses and education institutes in Shenyang to cooperate on establishing an innovation and entrepreneurship center in the city.

According to the cooperation plan, the seven Shenyang businesses will take advantage of their technology and human resources to cultivate 1,000 emerging high-tech start-ups over a three-year period, creating an estimated 14,000 jobs for the Northeast China region.

TusPark also signed agreements with the Russian Academy of Sciences to push forward the development of the Sino-Russia Science and Technology Park project, as well as the New Novosibirsk Science and Technology Park project in Liaoning province.
