Hohhot builds 86 vegetable planting bases

Hohhot has built 86 vegetable planting bases to promote development of its vegetable industry, according to data released from a conference on agricultural development in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on Aug 25.

Agricultural experts attended the conference in Hohhot, discussing new agricultural products and new technologies. The conference aimed to enhance industrial exchanges and explore new opportunities in the agriculture sector.

Since 2012, the Hohhot government has encouraging development of the vegetable industry. The city has built vegetable planting areas covering 10,667 hectares in the past four years.

Hohhot has built 86 vegetable planting bases, including 17 in Soil Left Banner, 33 in Saihan district and nine in Wuchuan county. The city has also built 20,256 greenhouses, solving problems with an unbalanced supply of vegetables.
