Business school alliance to serve Belt and Road Initiative

A business school alliance that consists of around 20 schools from countries along the Belt and Road Initiative was recently established in Harbin, Northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, with the aim of providing a platform for overseas business investors to learn about the local economy and business policies, as well as seek cooperation opportunities.

The alliance was established under the guidance of the training center of China’s National Development and Reform Commission, and it will serve the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping in 2013.

The alliance is targeted at multinational companies that are willing to invest in overseas markets, but know little about the investment environments of foreign countries.

The establishment of the business school alliance is expected to provide much more professional investment consultation for overseas investors due to the memberships’ research and investigation of local economic conditions, said Jin Jiafei, professor of the School of Management at Harbin Institute of Technology.

Many countries along the Belt and Road Initiative displayed their intentions and willingness to participate in the alliance. Tin Oo, chairman of Myanmar’s Belt and Road Initiative Association, expressed his hopes to seek business cooperation opportunities through the alliance and boost domestic economic development.
