Donghai Island battens down for Typhoon Pakhar

In the face of Pakhar, the 14th typhoon of the year, major industrial projects in Donghai Island took various prevention measures in order to ride it out.

Baosteel Zhanjiang made relevant arrangements as soon as the Zhanjiang Meteorological Bureau issued an alert for the form of a tropical depression on Aug 24.

The measures included the adjustment of production, logistics and transportation, reconfirmation of emergency supplies and systems, and the reinforcement of heavy equipment.

Zhongke Refinery & Petrochemical carried out wind proofing work with reinforced temporary facilities, closed windows and doors, transferred construction equipment, evacuated staff members and arranged watch keepers.

Guanhao High-tech checked water tanks and sandbags, reinforced doors, windows and equipment, and repositioned objects that could be affected by the typhoon. A working team headed by the general manager was also put on standby to ensure regional security.
