Long hours, more trains to Guangzhou South Station

The Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT will schedule 30 additional trips starting Sep 21, bringing to 130 the number between Guangzhou South and Zhuhai railway stations, according to the website of online ticket booking service 12306.

Currently, the MRT runs about 50 pairs of one-way trains (100 trips) daily between the two stations, with an average interval of 10-20 minutes. After the adjustment, more than 60 pairs (120+ trips) of intercity trains per day will make the run. During peak periods a train will leave Zhuhai for Guangzhou South every five minutes.

At present, the earliest train leaves Zhuhai at 7 am, and the last departs at 10:45 pm, but after the new timetable is executed, the last departure time from Zhuhai will be 11:05 pm. Nonetheless, times for trains leaving Guangzhou South Railway Station will remain unchanged, with the earliest being 6:20 am and the latest 10:30 pm.
