Eagle eye police cars are making an impact across Chinese cities, allowing officers to regulate and control illegal parking with greater efficiency, thanks to a Wuxi-based internet of things (IoT) company.

The system, developed by JustTrust, uses seven cameras which are fitted amid the lights on top of the police car. These cameras are able to monitor traffic and parked cars through 360 degrees. They are linked up to an onboard computer which is able to transfer information to and from the central network at the Public Security Bureau.

When put into use, the cameras are able to detect illegally parked vehicles, take a photo of them and their license plates, and send the information to the central network for processing in a mere blink of an eye.

These eagle-eyed police cars are also able to detect vehicles which have been illegally registered or with fake license plates – all thanks to being connected to a central database. A spokesperson from JustTrust said that the system will be able to detect vehicles which have not passed annual inspection in the near future.

Wuxi JustTrust Intelligent Technology Incorporation, established in 2009, researched and developed the integrated traffic patrol system, which so far has been rolled out across cities such as Nanjing and Ganzhou.

The company aims at mastering core IoT technology in the transport sector, as well as specializing in the research and development of intelligent video analysis systems.

With patented technology in video image analysis and recognition, JustTrust has developed a series of products aimed at intelligent transportation and intelligent safeguarding, including its Intelligent High Resolution Electronic Police System, Video-based Traffic Flow and Traffic Event Analysis System and Area Surveillance Security System.
