Sixth AOPA International Fly-in concludes in Faku

The three-day Shenyang (Faku) Sixth AOPA (Aircraft Owner and Pilot Association) International Fly-in concluded at Faku county's Caihu Airport on Aug 20, Chinanews.com reported.

The fly-in was expected to promote the Caihu air travel brands of Faku County and push the development of Shenyang's aviation industry, as well as related industries like sports, culture and travel.

With a theme of "the future of aviation", many internationally-famous aerobatics teams were invited to the event, including the Fire Dragon Airshows from Belgium and Storm Airshows from New Zealand, who performed formation flying and other exciting maneuvers with at least five jet aircraft. There were also parachute and paramotor performances during the event to entertain visitors.

More than 130 aviation companies from both China and abroad participated in the exhibition section. Different types of drones, helicopters, aircraft engines, new materials, guided systems and aircraft parts were on display, with examples of 15 different types of aircraft.

This year's event attracted over 100,000 visitors to Shenyang to enjoy the annual fly-in activity.

Statistics from the activity committee revealed that 16 projects covering aviation services and aviation industry cooperation were agreed. Aircraft sales worth around 150 million yuan ($22.49 million) were also agreed, involving the purchase of 47 new aircraft.

The event was hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Shenyang and Faku governments, the Shenyang Aviation Industry Office, and the sports bureau of Shenyang municipality.
