Vietnam's national tourism body held an event to promote the country as a tourist destination in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on Aug 19.
The event attracted more than 200 attendees from travel companies, airlines, hotels and media outlets from both countries.
Nguyen Van Tuan, chairman of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, briefed the attendees on the country's rich tourism resources at the event. The administration also held a Q&A session to better explain its various tourism products and high-quality tourism services.
The event also featured a performance of traditional Vietnamese music, as well as a prize draw offering free trips to Vietnam for the two lucky winners.
Vietnam has always eyed China as its largest potential source of tourists. The country received 2.6 million Chinese visitors in 2016, a year-on-year increase of 51.4 percent.
