A central cluster of landmarks containing a cultural community and civilian recreation center is to emerge in Western Eco-New Town.
The Western Eco-New Town Cultural Center, also known as Civic Cultural Center, is designed by Zhuhai Culture & Tourism Development Co Ltd and is to be built next to the Huangyang River.
With Jianfeng Mt in the north and Huafa Wetland Park to the south, the center is to encompass three arts stadiums, a cultural community, cultural-creative habitat, and eco-park, said a company executive. It will become a multi-functional landmark of Doumen District, high-end residential community, and administrative service base.
According to the designer, the project uses Minato Mirai 21 (a modern business center in Japan) and Shenzhen Cultural Center as references. The community will take advantage of key tourist projects to gain popularity, promote regional development, and increase the profile of Western Eco-New Town.

Meanwhile, a pan-tourism mode featuring cultural experience, leisure business and evening entertainment will boost urban consumption and showcase the cityscape.
Bookstore
Located in the Culture & Arts Center, the Lotus Petal Central Bookstore takes the shape of a lotus petal from Lianzhou Town and will be operated in line with experiential marketing theory. If tired of sitting in the experiential library in the future, one can also take a walk at the Science & Technology museum or enjoy the Performance & Arts Center.
Dreams
Integrating creative development, display, experience and sales, the Creative Dream Factory will consist of a studio, cultural enterprise office, and centers for enterprise training, small and micro cultural startup incubation, roadshows, makers base, and artistic creation. The complex will also provide apartments to serve cultural and creative entrepreneurs.
Courtyards
Using water as linkage, the new Lingnan (Cantonese-style) Water Town Courtyard Cluster blends traditional architecture with modern fashionable functions. Serving as a small-sized architectural community, it will have a boutique inn, pub, book bar, dining bar, tea house, business mansion, small art gallery, café, and crafts store.
Waterfront park
In conjunction with landscape upgrades along the Huangyang River, the Waterfront Eco-Park will have access to other scenic spots via urban and riverside greenways to form a 10-mile waterfront corridor. Following suit of the Pearl River night tour in Guangzhou, Zhuhai will soon have its own along the mother river of Doumen.
