Lvju Opera Theater of Shandong Province

The Lvju Opera Theater of Shandong Province was founded in October 1953. The Theater has produced and staged more than 200 plays of different subjects and styles. In 1954, Li Ersao Remarried scooped all the top prizes of the First East China Local Opera Competition and the lead actress Lang Xianfen won the First Prize for performance. Exchanging Spouses, adapted into a film by Hong Kong Huawen Film Studio, was well acclaimed in Southeast Asia for its fun-provoking plots. New Lu operas such as Drawing a Dragon, Soldiers' Wives, Shilong Bay, Bitter Flowers were staged in Beijing several times and gained overwhelming popularity. Among them, Shilong Bay and Bitter Flowers won the Wenhua Performing Award. Gao Jing, playing the lead actress in Shilong Bay, won the Wenhua Performing Award and Luan Shengli was granted the Wenhua Composition Award.

The Theater has 6 first grade actors and actresses, first grade playwright, first grade director, first grade composer, first grade musicians, and 27 actors and actresses with second grade vocational diplomas. The well-loved performers include seniors such as Lang Xianfen, Lin Jianhua and Li Daijiang and young performers such as Gao Jing, Dong Jiachen, Li Ping and Li Xiaojiang who have made the Lvju Opera very popular among the audiences.
