A Mongolian yurt was erected in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, decorated with Baotou paper-cuttings to promote the art form, according to nmgnews.com.cn.
The red paper-cuttings covered a total area of 400 square meters and were created by folk artists.
Paper-cutting is one of the most important folk arts in China, with a history that can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24) when Cai Lun invented paper.
Baotou paper-cutting incorporates grassland and nomadic culture and was listed as part of China’s cultural heritage in 2010.
