The 25th Guangzhou Fair, organized by the People's Government of Guangzhou, will be held from Aug 25 to 28. The event will host about 7,000 booths and cover an area of nearly 140,000 square kilometers.
"The 2017 event, dating back to 1993, is girded for more cooperative cities than ever from home and abroad," said Ma Shu, deputy secretary-general of Guangzhou municipal government.
"With three comprehensive exhibition halls showcasing more than 20 cities in China and several foreign sister cities of Guangzhou, the event is also equipped with eight exhibitions in specific themes, ranging from food and beverages to high technology," said Liao Yuxun, deputy director of Guangzhou Fair Organizing Committee Office.
China (Guangzhou) International Elderly Health Industry Exposition 2017 will be held during the Guangzhou Fair in a bid to promote public awareness of the importance of a healthy diet for the elderly and display the achievements already made in the elderly care industry.
"The most innovative exhibitions this year will be the ones with virtual reality (VR) facilities and technology," said Yang Yihang, director of Guangzhou Fair Organizing Committee Office. "Through this unique exhibition, we can inform the general public, using VR technology, of some emergency information such as how to escape safely if an earthquake strikes."
Yang also said that VR facilities provide a platform for game developers to launch their products and electronic sport players to get a taste of a brand new experience.
