Wudang Lamasery scenic area recognized for tourism

Wudang Lamasery scenic area, located in Shiguai district of Baotou, was selected as one of the pilot areas for general aviation tourism, according to an Aug 15 Baotou Daily report.

It is the only scenic area in Inner Mongolia autonomous region that is on the list.

The Shiguai district of Baotou has been making strides in developing its tourism. The district was selected as one of the demonstration areas for “all-for-one” tourism due to its efforts in upgrading and integrating tourism resources, public services, systems, mechanisms, regulations and policies to boost economic development by using tourism as its new engine for growth.

Also, a general airport project has been settled in the district, drawing an investment of 250 million yuan ($37.5 million). The airport is expected to be open to the public in September.
