Slush takes place in Shanghai

Slush, an international tech event that initially started in Finland in 2008, held its first conference in Shanghai last year, and this year's two-day tech conference is going to be held from Oct 12 to 13. It is being co-organized by Tongji University and Chang Yang Valley.

The event is expected to include over 2,000 participants, including 300 entrepreneurs, 150 investors and 80 journalists from 50 countries. Startups from Europe and China will exhibit their intelligent techniques, and attend the innovation tournament. To enhance communication, the conference facilitates meetings for the founders and the investors.

With Shanghai being the latest addition, Slush has now opened five branch offices in Helsinki, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai. As a student-driven non-profit movement originally set up to change attitudes towards entrepreneurship, it has established an in-depth cooperative platform focusing on product vitality and creativity.  

With the innovative educational system, Tongji University and Aalto University in Finland reached a common recognition of talent development. The closer ties fostered the building of Sino-Finnish Center in 2010 as a window for innovative ecosystem researches.

The design of the conference hall and exhibition areas will adopt a simple Nordic style combined with the characteristics of Shanghai. With the new conference mode being brought to China, Slush will expand cooperation and seek more entrepreneurs to engage in high-tech and startup communities.
