Eight Guangdong cities and a district will attend the 3rd Advanced Equipment Manufacturing Investment & Trade Symposium for the Western Pearl River Region. Zhuhai is expected to outshine the others at the Aug 28-30 show in Foshan.
Yunfu, which borders participants Zhaoqing, Foshan, Yangjiang, and Jiangmen, is taking part for the first time. In addition to Zhuhai, the other displayers are Zhongshan, Shaoguan, and Shunde District in Foshan.
The Zhuhai delegation consists of 41 enterprises with more than 100 items to display in its 3,248-sq-m exhibition hall, according to a government official.
Exhibits in "smart" manufacturing and developments in land, sea, and air technologies will tell of the city's achievements in creating an advanced manufacturing industrial belt over the past three years.
According to vice-mayor Lu Xiaofeng, Zhuhai new-energy vehicle-related suppliers will also be spotlighted to showcase a complete industrial chain. They include automobile manufacturers Zhuhai Yinlong Energy Co Ltd and ZTE Smart Auto Corp. Meanwhile, electronic control system developer Zhuhai Enpower Electric Holding Co Ltd, and LPR (Zhuhai) Auto Parts Ltd, a production and sales base of brake systems of Italian LPR Group in China, will also participate.

Zhuhai achieved year-on-year growth of 25.1 percent in the first half of this year, reporting 23.1 billion yuan ($3.5 billion) in value added of equipment manufacture. Meanwhile, value added in machine tool-related manufacturing rocketed by 74.8 percent to 4.5 billion yuan ($668.6 million). These indicators put Zhuhai atop others at the symposium.
The performance contributed to the city's ranking first provincially for the first six months of this year in both GDP growth -- a rise of 9.2 percent -- and in value added of industrial enterprises above designated size -- up 13.3 percent -- said a government official.
The investment-trade symposium was held first in Zhuhai in 2014 and then in Foshan. Its purpose is to assess the progress of creating an advanced equipment manufacturing industrial belt on the west bank of the Pearl River. At the same time it will highlight the industrial agglomeration of key enterprises.
Accommodated will be more than 2,000 guests and businesspeople from home and abroad. Attendees include more than a hundred representatives of well-known overseas advanced equipment manufacturers and more than 300 domestic ones.
A 30,000 sq m exhibition area for separated displays based on administrative divisions has been arranged. Encompassed will be exhibition and trade, a signing ceremony, networking for paired proprietary projects, investment promotion, and exhibitor exchanges.
The symposium will connect equipment manufacturing products, technology, talents, projects, and capital resources, said a spokesperson at the Aug 14 press conference announcing the event.
