The 2017 China (Guangdong) Folk Arts and Crafts Fair, a great event to showcase folk arts and crafts, was held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex from Aug 10 to 14.
Held in the same venue and at the same time as the South China Book Festival, the event attracted more than 200 folk artists and inheritors of folk crafts with exhibits covering over 50 categories including pottery, embroidery and wood carving.

During the exhibition, more than 200 arts and crafts from across China will compete against each other for the China Folk Art Mountain Flower Award, a top honor in the arts and literature field in China.
Other highlights of the event include a photography competition and handicrafts-making demonstrations.
"The fair is a great platform to show the inheritance, development and innovation of China's folk arts and crafts and it adds more vitality to the traditional techniques and helps blend them with our lives," said Qiu Kejun, deputy secretary of the Party leadership group of Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
