Wuxi kicks off night tour festival

The streets around the Grand Canal in Wuxi have come alive this month as the city celebrates the International Night Tour Festival on the Grand Canal.

Nearly 100 activities will be held over the next 40 days as part of the festival, including diabolo shows, amateur opera competitions, garden parties and creative markets.

Winding from Beijing to Hangzhou, the Grand Canal has been listed as a UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage site.

Wuxi is home to the last existing stretch of the ancient waterway in the Yangtze River Delta.
