Annual exotic canal tour night festival arrives in Wuxi

The 2017 exotic canal tour night festival kicked off on Aug 4 in Liangxi District. The district has prepared many activities in ten themes to promote canal culture tourism.

The night festival is one of the key activities of Liangxi district, and is now in its third year. It unfolds the district's ancient canal culture to visitors from across the world. Various entertaining activities, such as artistic performances, lecture salons, public readings and film exhibitions, enrich this delightful event.

On the evening of Aug 4, Qingqiao plaza presented poetry, songs and dances from China and elsewhere. Every week of the 43-day festival a parade will be held along Nanchang Street featuring hot samba dances and African drums, which will definitely add a different kind of tone to the celebration.

Additionally, Liangxi district will host a public opera contest, a diabolo (Chinese yo-yo) performance and a garden party to encourage more visitors to participate.

The night tour festival along the ancient canal is a multicultural extravaganza inviting visitors from around the world to experience the charisma of Wuxi’s traditional culture and art.
