Another 14 km of urban greenways will have been built in Jinwan by year-end, it was announced by the district Housing & Urban-Rural Planning & Construction Bureau on Aug 1.
The new greenways are being placed along Jin'er and Qingxi roads, and Jinshan and Jinfan avenues, according to a bureau official.
At present, work along Jin’er Road has been completed, while the rest is well under way. So far, 60 percent of the undertaking is done, the official added.
Meanwhile, construction of the greenway in Central River Wetland Park was recently initiated. Located at Jinwan Aviation New Town, the 3-km length features an ecological wetland landscape and is equipped with support facilities such as rainwater collection, boardwalks, recreation deck, and pavilion.
Greenway in Jinwan District
Once completed, residents can walk along the greenway of Airport Road to get into the wetland park, as the two routes will be connected, the official stated.
In addition to seaside and wetland park greenways, recent accomplishments include a hillside greenway by the Huanglvbei Reservoir. In 2016, Jinwan undertook the Huanglvbei Reservoir Forest Park (Guanyin Mt Country Park) project. A 7-km hillside greenway was constructed as part of the park’s first-phase project to improve afforestation.
