Work on a military cultural park covering 1,333 hectares began in Baotou, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 28, reports Baotou Daily.
It will be the first cultural park of its kind in the autonomous region.
Ren Fu, deputy mayor of Baotou, said at the launch ceremony that the park will serve as a key base for education in military matters and national defense.
The park, which has attracted investment of some 520 million yuan ($77.35 million), is expected to be completed by May 2019.
Activities at the park will include military cultural tours and simulated battles, with some of the battles being interactive games with participants armed with laser tag guns.
