The Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Xiamen Municipal Government held a mobilization meeting on July 25 ahead of September's BRICS summit in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province.
The meeting reviewed the department's preparedness for the upcoming summit. The office has optimized some work plans such as the reception for distinguished state guests. The meeting also outlined major tasks in the next 40 days before the summit opens. The office pledged to streamline specific plans to ensure the success of the summit. It will also keep close contact and share relevant information with other departments.
Li Xiaoping, director of the office stressed that hosting a successful BRICS Summit in Xiamen is of great importance to push forward the internationalization of the city and a boost to China's image on the international stage. He encouraged all members of the department involved in the preparation to have a strong sense of responsibility and avoid breaching regulations on confidentiality.
